Courtown Sailing Club is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of one of our founder members, and Past Commodore Noel Schorman. Noel was on the very first committee of Courtown Sailing Club in 1983 and went on to be commodore of the club from 1993 - 1995
Noel was a proud member of CSC and a trusted advisor to all the later commodores and committees. His famous black book to record those that ‘volunteered’ for work is still being used by many a commodore to record work parties and promises. His boat Nan was an integral part of cruiser class two and was his pride and joy. His attention to detail and knowledge of club traditions and rules was impeccable. Noel sponsored two of the long-standing cruiser club race trophies League 2-class 2-2nd and the Lady skippers’ class 2. He was a true gentleman and friend and will be remembered fondly by all in CSC.
Deepest sympathies to all of Noel’s family and his many friends.
